Madnetwork
Friend other madshare nodes to build the madnetwork: exchange node cards out-of-band (chat, mail — any channel you trust) and import each other’s card here. A node becomes a friend only after both admins have acted.
Federation is turned off. Set [federation].enabled = true in
madshare.toml and restart (requires a build without
-tags nofederation) to join the madnetwork.

Network map
Every node reachable through a chain of friendships, as your friends describe it. Names past your own friends are hearsay about strangers — anyone can call themselves anything, so the key is the identity and is shown beside every name. Blocking or removing a node also forgets whatever was reachable only through it — unless another friend vouches for it too.

Underlay peerings
The yggdrasil links this node dials or accepts — the wire under the madnetwork. A friend can be unreachable while every link here is up (that is their outage); when these are down, everything is. A dropped link redials on a growing backoff, and a failed madnetwork fetch kicks it to retry immediately.
